Opportunities for cooperation with the LFO
At the Chair of Enterprise Logistics, cooperation between companies, researchers and students is actively practiced and promoted. Networking between the Chair and companies forms the basis for matching current research topics with relevant practical problems. Through long-term cooperation with practice partners, topics are jointly developed and further developed in both teaching and research.
The following possibilities for cooperation exist
Cooperation in teaching
When collaborating with companies, we use various formats from teaching and research. In teaching, we involve companies in lectures, laboratories and scientific (final) theses.
Further information on our courses can be found here.
Cooperating in research
Research into issues relating to corporate logistics and supply chain management is being continued in a number of research projects. In all projects, we strive for an active exchange with practitioners in order to develop and validate results and transfer them into application. There is also the opportunity to jointly develop topics and work on them in new research projects. Depending on the format, companies can benefit from state funding.
Information on current research projects can be found here.
The following cooperation opportunities exist in teaching:
- Classic guest lectures in the context of our courses (to provide practical insights)
- Joint design of case studies (e.g. based on current issues or problems at your company) in the context of our tutorials
- Excursions (to present your company on site and bring your topics to life for our students)
- Scientific work (Bachelor's theses, Master's theses, project work) in cooperation between your company and our department to solve current questions or problems at your company
- Specialist laboratories in cooperation between your company and our chair to solve current questions or problems in your company
The following cooperation opportunities exist in research:
- Development of joint research or collaborative projects (e.g. participation as a research partner, application partner, development partner or associate)
- Transfer of current research findings into practice (e.g. in the course of demonstrations and validation workshops)
- Workshops and services, also in conjunction with the Fraunhofer IML
- Development of standards and guidelines in cooperation with the German Institute for Standardization (DIN) and the Association of German Engineers (VDI)
A win-win situation for all parties
- Through a regular exchange between the company and the chair, potentials from the current state of research are identified and transferred into practice.
- In teaching, students are given the opportunity to gain practical experience and build networks for their professional future.
- In various teaching formats, creative junior staff develop innovative solution concepts within a short period of time.
- More complex issues are addressed in research projects in collaboration with LFO scientists. The LFO has access to a broad network from industry and research.
