Study at the LFO
Our teaching is based on innovative and student-centered methods that use interactive and practical approaches to make learning exciting and goal-oriented. It is important to us not only to impart knowledge, but also to equip our students with the right tools and methods for their future careers in research and industry. To this end, we align ourselves with the state of the art of university teaching and design all courses according to the constructive alignment principle and meaningful learning objectives. In addition, we are constantly developing our courses further and rely on new innovative concepts such as the flipped classroom approach, which enable application-centered teaching. In this way, we support the development of knowledge and skills that are necessary to solve today's and tomorrow's challenges and make our contribution to training the supply chain managers of tomorrow!
The LFO teaching map
Our courses form a well thought-out network in order to provide the most holistic insight possible into the tasks and challenges of supply chain management. Our teaching map helps with orientation and provides an overview of what we teach and where, which specializations are possible and where there are interesting interfaces with other courses.
Our teaching philosophy
Students learn the basic principles of business logistics and the tools required to apply them by
- acquiring knowledge independently with the help of the material provided,
- testing methods together in different scenarios and understanding their application,
- linking knowledge and methods with each other,
- classify their relevance for practice and science, and
- abstract this within the overall context,
to use what they have learned to manage the challenges of logistics in practice and to generate new findings in science in order to consolidate and continuously develop the domain.
